Any idea what could have caused this and how I can stop it from ever happening again. So my cry for help in the face of this disaster is two-fold: And -mind-blowingly!- Nextcloud isn't even capable of selecting a range of files at a time (with shift+click)! And they load dynamically, so I can only see about 20 files at a time before I have to scroll down another screen and wait for it to load another screenful. They should be in the trash can, but there seems to be no way to filter the deleted files, nor to search on them. I'm currently trying to find the deleted files on the server through the web interface (though this won't necessarily solve the ongoing problem!). And I have NC on a managed VPS and don't have access to the raw logs on the server. There's no way to see the all the affected files, nor the time they were deleted. " and shows how many days ago this happened. The Nextcloud client log viewer is unfortunately profoundly limited. It's like Nextcloud decided that the folders and files had been deleted somewhere and started deleting them locally, on my computer. What could possibly be going on here? I thought at first that it could be user error, but these folders are spread out over four hard drives, so there is literally no command I could have run nor any combination of stupid keystrokes I could have issued to produce this pattern of deleted files. Certain types of files in literally thousands of other folders are gone.Īnd this is still happening! I've closed the Nextcloud client for now so I can try to figure out what the hell is going on so more damage is not done. Folders I haven't opened in days or weeks are suddenly completely empty. In the last day I started noticing that Nextcloud is deleting thousands upon thousands of my files for no apparent reason on my main computer. I've been using Nextcloud on a managed VPS to back up the files on two Linux computers, both running the latest version of the client.
